Become A Member | Kernow Edition.

Wednesday 12 July 2023

There is a lot to pick from when it comes to memberships around the UK, this one will focus on cornwall, some memberships I've had/got and others I want to get. It can be costly especially in the cost of living crisis, one thing I can say is to choose a membership for a place you know you will possibly want to keep returning to. At one point I had a National Trust membership after I had visited Lanhydrock (highly recommend visiting it but the house gets extremely hot). I've also had an Eden Project pass many times, it's handy having a locals pass as you end up getting a discount. Check out some of the passes I plan on getting:

Eden Project:

As mentioned before there is a locals pass, this gives residents of Cornwall and Devon an unlimited entry into the Eden Project until March 31st 2024, it saves you alot! You will need to book a free timed slot for this and bring proof of your address the first time you apply. prices are as followed:

  • Adults - Non Direct Debit: £20.50 | Annual Direct Debit: £17.50
  • Senior (over 60s) - Non Direct Debit: £19.50 | Annual Direct Debit: £16.50
  • Young Adult (17-25) Or full time Student - Non Direct Debit: £13.50 | Annual Direct Debit: £11.00
  • Child ((5-16 years old) - Non Direct Debit: £10.00 | Annual Direct Debit: £8.00
  • Family (Two adults and two children) - Non Direct Debit: £58.00 Annual Direct Debit: £46.00
  • Ind Family (one adults and two children) - Non Direct Debit: £38.00 | Annual Direct Debit: £30.00

National Trust:

There are some good perks as a National Trust member, especially when there are so many locations all around the UK, some of the perks include; free entry to over 500 places they care for, free parking across post national trust car parks, pay for your membership and you can get a £15 gift card to spend at their shops and cafes. Prices are as followed:

  • Family Membership 1 - Two adults over 18 living at the same address and their children or grandchildren (17 or under). Under 5s go free. - £12.20 a month | £146.40 a year

  • Adult Membership (26+) - £7 a month | £84 a year
  • Young Person Membership (18-25) -  £42 a year
  • Junior Membership (0-17) - £10 a month

The Lost Gardens of Heligan:

I've never been here before, i've wanted to visit since moving here and never had the opportunity, I know a few of my friends and family with kids visit Heligan a lot so they purchased the membership rather than paying to go in each time, it works out more cost effective that way for ticket prices click HERE, the membership prices are as followed:
  • Individual Pass - £37.50
  • Joint Pass - £70
  • Family (2 adults & up to 3 children) - £80
  • Children’s Pass (5-17) - £10

Trebah Garden:

This is one I have never been to, I've looked into it extensively and it seems like one of the best memberships to get as members can get into other attractions for free from the months of November to January making it perfect for those who want to go to The Eden Project, Minack Theatre, National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Pinetum Gardens. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Wheal Martyn Clay works. Your membership to Trebah Gardens also includes, Free admission to Trebah Garden all year, 10% discount in the Trebah kitchen, gift shop and plant centre as well as 10% discount when purchasing a member ticket for Amphitheatre performances and much more which you can read about HERE. Membership prices are as followed:

Individual Membership:
  • 1 Adult for a year - £45 - when paying by Annual Direct Debit | £50 - when paying by cash/cheque/card.
Family Membership:
  • 2 named adults and up to 3 named children under 16 for a year - £75 - when paying by Annual Direct Debit | £80 - when paying by cash/cheque/card
Life Membership:
  • £500 - Individual Life

There are many many more memberships you can get here in Kernow, but it will get awfully expensive and complicated, that's why I settled on these main 4 places, The National Trust membership is the one I would want most out of all of them, there are so many different places run by them around the country which makes it well worth the price.
